Chronic headaches and migraines

One of the chronic ailments I talk a lot about on my radio program is chronic headaches and migraines, and I would like to share it with you. In 26 years of private practice it has been my experience that at least seventy percent of individuals that suffer with either of these problems, can expect a significant decrease in the intensity or frequency of them or a complete elimination. I understand a lot of you would be skeptical. Why isn't this front page news. After all we spend 20-30 billion dollars a year on medication that can help the migraines temporarily but they aren't designed to eliminate the problem once and for all. What I can tell you is this: Chiropractic care treats the source of many of the ailments that plague our society today. Chronic headaches and migraines being just one of them. Let me share one story. My I.T. person had been suffering with chronic migraines for 18 years, to the tune of 2-3 a week. That was 3 years ago. In the last 3 years you can count on one hand the number of migraines he's had. This after years of suffering with the only treatment being medication after medication after medication. Again why isn't this front page news. I've been asking that question for 30 years. Do I believe in medication for migraines? Yes. But if there is a possibility of eliminating them once and for all isn't it worth investigating?

Hello Dr.Cohen, I am a 20 year old Nursing student and I enjoy listening to your radio show on Sunday nights! I have suffered from severe headaches and migraines since I was about 10 years old. The frequent headaches are uncomfortable but i've grown use to them, it's the incredibly painful migraines that I would really like to eliminate. When I get migraines it is very hard for me to function and I can't be in the light. I am currently on Tylenol with codiene but it only helps so much and I would like to get off the medicine cause I find myself taking it a lot and I know it can't be that good for me long term. I am a bit apprehensive , but I think I would like to try a different treatment for my pain.
