I received a tremendous amount of feedback about my radio show last night. Most of it stemming from the call from the gentleman who's wife has become addicted to oxycodone. With all due respect, a lot of people missed the boat. This woman would've never been in the situation she finds herself  currently, if she had a doctor who took the time to diagnose her first, find the source of her pain,  and then begin treatment based on the information gathered. Why is it that so many individuals that have pain go to the doctor and are prescribed medication before the physician knows what's  wrong. I don't get it.  If you are currently under care, and the doctor treating you isn't completely focused on solving the problem and getting you well, then it's time for a second opinion. I would like to end on a positive note; I saw two of my favorite patients today. I hadn't seen either of them in almost a year and it so nice to spend time with them both. One has been a patient  for twenty three years. Wow, where did the time go!
